Every year, Belmont World Film puts on a festival featuring the best pieces of cinema from across the globe. 2022’s iteration of Belmont World Film's International Film Series marks its 20th anniversary. In order to allow everyone to participate in the way that they feel most comfortable, the film festival will be held using a hybrid model with some films available online and some screened in person (some will host both types of screenings).
The film series actually launched back in March, but you still have plenty of opportunities to see the acclaimed foreign films this May! The Man in the Basement is showing online until May 2nd, followed by a Zoom discussion with the filmmaker and other experts at 7 p.m. that evening. Vera Dreams of the Sea is next up, also online only, with the film’s panel meeting virtually the following Monday at 7 p.m. Then to cap off the film festival on Monday, May 16th, an in-person screening of Silent land will be held at Majestic 7 Cinema before the filmmaker takes the stage to discuss their masterpiece. Tickets start at $12 per person, per screening, but passes for multiple screenings are also available.
